Job description

Join an award-winning international architectural studio as Head of Finance, reporting directly to the Founder and CEO. This is a key leadership role at a pivotal time, as the practice enters a new phase of transformational growth.

We're seeking a strategic, commercially minded finance leader to drive sustainable, profitable development through robust financial planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial strategy, planning, and reporting across the firm
• Deliver accurate reports: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Ensure compliance and strong internal controls
• Oversee accounting, payroll, legal/insurance, and financial systems
• Support cross-departmental decision-making and instil financial discipline
• Coach senior leaders in budgeting and commercial best practices
• Guide due diligence for investment or ownership changes

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in architecture, design, or engineering sectors
• Strategic, detail-oriented, and commercially astute
• Skilled in simplifying complex financial data
• Collaborative, confident, and purpose-driven
• Proven track record of driving performance in creative environments

Preferred Experience:

• 10+ years in financial leadership
• Familiar with project-based systems (e.g. Rapport3)
• Strong UK accounting and tax knowledge
• Experience in creative or design-led businesses
• Exposure to capital raising, governance, or transformation
