The Opportunity
Our client, a highly successful and growing events catering company based in London, renowned for delivering world-class culinary experiences across prestigious UK venues and events, is seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Head of Finance. This role will lead the finance function and act as a strategic business partner to the Founder and Managing Director.

The Role
As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the finance function, ensuring the company’s financial performance is well-managed, data-driven, and aligned with its ambitious growth plans across the UK and Europe. You will be a critical member of the senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

• Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, including comprehensive variance analysis
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations and provisions are accurate and up to date
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax provisions in compliance with current legislation
• Track and benchmark KPIs; investigate significant variances

Strategic Financial Support

• Collaborate with the Founder and MD to shape the company’s strategic financial direction
• Support business planning with forecasts, cash flow projections, and margin analysis
• Provide financial modelling for investment, expansion, and cost-saving initiatives

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a key advisor to the senior team, ensuring financial decisions are data-driven
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders across operations, sales, and events
• Present financial reports and recommendations to leadership with clarity and commercial insight

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be ACMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified, confident in working with a range of cloud accounting software and apps, with experience using Xero and Dext Prepare. Previous experience in a senior finance role within the hospitality, events, or catering industry is essential. You will thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment with seasonal demands and enjoy variety.
