Role Overview: My client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Finance to lead their finance function and oversee key operational areas of their growing organization. Reporting directly to the CEO and MD, you will play a pivotal role in driving their financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management:
Core Finance: Oversee daily financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns.
Financial Controls: Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Project Finance & Management:
Project Finance: Evaluate project profitability, assess financing options, and manage client finances according to budgets and project payments.
Contract Management: Calculate project fees, issue fee proposals, and work with legal and design teams to mitigate contract risks and monitor project resources.
Client Liaison: Liaise with clients for funds requests, allocations, and budget discussions.
International Trade:
Trade Finance: Leverage knowledge of international trade finance, currency exchange, import/export regulations, and trade finance to optimize cross-border transactions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations to minimize risks.
HR Administration:
HR Operations: Oversee HR administrative tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining personnel records.
HR Policy & Compliance: Work with external HR advisors to provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial processes and systems, with proficiency in accounting software.
Project Finance & Management: Experience in project finance and contract management.
International Trade: Knowledge of international trade finance and import/export regulations.
Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA qualification is preferred but not essential.
Industry Experience: Experience in e-commerce or commerce, preferably within a design studio environment.
