Job summary

A not for profit organization in the Wirral area is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance team. The ideal candidate will have essential qualifications in ACCA, ACA, or CCAB/CIMA and experience in statutory accounts preparation. Responsibilities include overseeing financial accounts, cash flow management, and ensuring timely reporting to regulators. This permanent role offers a competitive salary between £68k and £70k.

Qualifications

  • Essential qualifications include ACCA, ACA or CCAB/CIMA.
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation is necessary.
  • Previous experience in the not for profit sector, ideally in Education, is preferred.

Head of Finance

Head of Finance required to join one of our not for profit organisations on a permanent basis. My client is looking to secure an experienced professional Head of Finance who can lead the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the production of statutory financial accounts
  • Ensure that finance elements of the annual report are completed
  • Supervise and finalise completion of the monthly returns to the regulator
  • To forecast and manage the balance sheet including capital assets, working capital balances, provisions and reserves.
  • To oversee the management of the cash flow
  • Implement internal and external audit recommendations specific to financial processes
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the financial ledger and budgeting systems, and undertake enhancements and reviews as necessary to ensure timeliness, accuracy and validity of data.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally ACCA, ACA, CCAB/CIMA qualified (essential)
  • Previous experience within not for profit sector ideally Education
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation (essential)
