Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Finance based in Milton Keynes to join one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis.

Summary of the Head of Finance role

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum

Location: Milton Keynes (100% office-based)

Type of Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities of the Head of Finance

• Report to the parent company in Europe, with limited strategy & decision making.
• Prepare and submit UK and Irish VAT returns.
• Manage customs account paperwork.
• Maintain general and sub-ledgers, accounts receivable, payable, and fixed asset register.
• Manage monthly payroll ledger.
• Liquidity planning.
• Coordinate the year-end audit process.
• Conduct monthly and annual profit and loss and balance sheet analysis.
• Manage a team of 2 staff members.

Requirements for a successful Head of Finance

• Bachelor's degree or full ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience with Irish Intrastat & VAT is essential.
• Senior-level experience in finance or accounting, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
• Experience in the manufacturing, production, or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in profitability analysis, VAT returns, and import/export processes.
• Strong IT skills, including Office 365 and ERP systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing a small team is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in data control and report preparation.
