Head of Finance

T2M Resourcing has been retained by a highly successful engineering and manufacturing company seeking to recruit a Head of Finance to join their UK leadership team. The ideal candidate is an all-round qualified accountant with a passion for improving processes, systems, and people, ensuring financial control, value-added reporting, and compliance for a scalable future. We are looking for a hands-on, robust character with enthusiasm and a positive ‘can-do’ outlook to support change, lead, and develop a fit-for-purpose finance department.

• Salary: Up to £99,000, subject to experience, plus benefits.

What will you be doing?

As Head of Finance, your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of management and statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS standards.
• Review and analysis of financial performance against budgets, including preparing reports for local management to inform commercial decisions.
• Collaborating with the leadership team to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Managing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Leading and developing a small finance team.
• Overseeing costing and stock management.
• Ensuring all statutory returns are completed and submitted in compliance with local legislation.
• Managing CAPEX planning and control.
• Handling audit liaison, responding to queries, and implementing necessary actions.
• Developing systems and processes with a focus on continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

To be successful as Head of Finance, you will have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with experience in a finance leadership role within a growing manufacturing company.
• A proactive, positive, ‘can-do’ attitude that supports and challenges management to meet business objectives.
• Experience in an accounting firm combined with operational and commercial experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong technical accounting skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS standards and the ability to produce accurate, timely accounts meeting statutory and internal group requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
• Experience in product costing and stock management.
• Ability to produce budgets and forecasts that add value to the business operating plan.
• A flexible, agile approach with experience in leading change and transformation.
• Ideally, experience with systems implementation.
• Previous experience working with a PE-backed business would be advantageous.
