A leading finance firm in Blackpool is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance department. This important role involves strategic planning, cash flow management, and preparing reports. Ideal candidates will have a relevant finance qualification and experience managing a team. This exciting business supplies equipment and services to customers in the UK and internationally. Part of a larger group of companies, they have experienced rapid growth and have a reputation as an innovative, market-leading company in their niche sector. A new role has now been created for a Head of Finance to join the senior team and report into the Divisional MD on site and the Group Finance Director at head office. The role will carry full responsibility for the site finance department, providing financial analysis to support decision-making for senior executives and delivering reports to the group. Success in this role could significantly raise your profile within the group and potentially lead to a Finance Director position in the future.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the results and success of the finance department and should be seeking a varied position in a growing company with a turnover of £5-£10m. You will manage a small team and need strong communication skills to operate credibly at board level. Main duties include:
This role would suit an individual who is excited by change, enjoys troubleshooting, and improving processes. An initial project will involve implementing paperless accounts, service, and order processing procedures by integrating computer systems. Good knowledge of stock control will be highly beneficial, along with a willingness to contribute ideas to overall operational success.
Ideally, candidates should be CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE). Applicants must have experience in a hands-on finance role at a similar level, managing a team, with strong organizational and planning skills. Good knowledge of Excel and preferably SAGE will be useful, along with a high degree of comfort working with different IT systems and business management software.
