Job summary

A growing engineering business near Stansted is seeking a Head of Finance to take ownership of financial activities. You will ensure compliance and provide accurate reporting to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a finance leadership role and be proficient in Sage 200. This position offers a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum and a 39-hour workweek.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
  • Oversee sales and purchase ledger, invoices, and statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and HMRC reporting.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
  • Drive efficiency improvements in systems and processes.

Skills

Overview

Head of Finance position for a growing engineering business near Stansted. Reporting directly to senior management, you will take ownership of financial activities, ensure compliance, and provide clear, accurate reporting to support decision-making.

Location: Near Stansted, Essex, United Kingdom

Salary & Hours

Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Week 1 – Mon-Thurs 07:30-17:00, Fri 07:30-13:30; Week 2 – Mon-Thurs 07:30-17:00. Average of 39 hours per week.
