Compensation: GBP 49,526 - GBP 55,714 / year

Description

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. To ensure the Finance Department provides a high-quality service to students, staff, budget holders, and other colleagues across the College through the provision of timely, accurate, and relevant financial management information and the operation of robust financial controls to achieve value for money and sustainable financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare monthly management accounts and budget holder reports within defined timescales, providing accurate and accessible information to support budget holders and senior managers in fulfilling their financial responsibilities.
  2. Report financial information to external stakeholders as required, in the prescribed format.
  3. Investigate variances and recommend appropriate actions.
  4. Liaise with the Chief Operating Officer to generate the annual budget and three-year forecast.
  5. Develop the finance system and processes to improve compliance and enhance access to financial information.
  6. Monitor all income to ensure it is received as expected and correctly reflected, maintaining effective accounts receivable procedures.
  7. Review month-end reconciliations and control accounts, working through adjustments as needed.
  8. Generate and maintain the College's cash flow forecast to ensure sufficient funds and compliance with bank covenants.
  9. Support the COO in developing performance monitoring tools and KPIs.
  10. Ensure effective accounting and reporting for capital projects.
  11. Contribute to internal committee meetings by presenting financial information.
  12. Monitor, report, and improve the College's financial health.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
