Head of Facilities Management & Laboratory Services (UK)

We are looking for a Head of Facilities Management & Laboratory Services who is innovative, adaptable, and organized to join our Facilities department, based at our Slough campus, Berkshire, United Kingdom.

About the role

You will manage the provision of a wide range of soft facilities management services to the UK and Ireland property portfolio. This includes the UK operational base at Slough, Windlesham, and other UCB legacy properties where services to sub-tenants are provided. You will also support and advise the Irish offices as needed.

Who you’ll work with

You will work closely with our Director of Facilities, Head of Engineering, and wider teams across our campus. You will also collaborate with our 4 contracted service partners.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate the delivery of all Facilities Management soft services to research scientists and corporate offices.
  • Ensure these services meet customer needs and are delivered within the departmental budget.
  • Ensure laboratories operate efficiently with timely supply of materials, reagents, engineering support, and equipment.
  • Manage all Front of House services at the Slough campus.
  • Oversee Cleaning & Waste Management services at the Slough and Windlesham campuses.
  • Manage Catering Services at the Slough campus.
  • Implement and oversee an integrated transport management system, including bus services, green initiatives, and taxi/chauffeur management.

Qualifications, experience, and skills

  • Extensive experience in Facilities Management service delivery
  • Experience in budget management
