At Farnborough International we are known for running one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious airshows. Whilst we will continue to build on every airshow, we’re also on a journey to become more than this.

Our aim is to transform what we are known for – to make Farnborough International a globally recognised brand, famous for its pioneering spirit in delivering world-class airshows and hosting business events in our state-of-the-art 20,000 sqm exhibition and conference centre.

The Role

The Head of Event Management plays a key role in overseeing a team of event managers liaising with suppliers, clients and ensuring the successful day-to-day delivery of exhibitions, conferences, other events and filming at Farnborough. FIL is a global brand and consequently there is an expectation that our Venue is delivered to reflect this; including the way we present ourselves.

With customer experience at the heart of what we do, the Head of Event Management will work closely with customer experience leads across the business to ensure success at every touchpoint. This role also assists the Airshow Operational Team in the planning and delivery of Farnborough International Airshow (FIA).

The Candidate

  • Excellent people management skills, including the ability to work with contractors
  • Strong event or venue operational background
  • A fluent and effective communicator at all levels
  • Excellent organisational ability
  • Personable and a good team player
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines and respond to challenges in the moment during shows
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • IOSH (preferred although training can be given)

Salary: Depending on experience

Position: Full-time, permanent role

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9.00 to 17.30 with flexibility around events (weekends & evenings)
