HANetf is Europe’s first full service white label ETP firm. We provide all the functions and services necessary to set up, manage and grow ETPs for third party asset managers.

The business was established in 2017 and listed its first ETF in November 2018. We currently manage over ≠$5bn in AUM across 21 ETFs, 5 commodity ETCs, and 9 crypto funds for clients in Europe, Canada, and the US. Our product focus is on the ‘value added’ segment of the ETF market, including active, niche, and thematic ETFs, covering commodities, equities, active strategies, and indices.

The goal is to expand our offerings to approximately 100-200 ETFs and serve 40-50 clients across the full spectrum of ETFs—equities, bonds, and alternatives.

Background

The Capital Markets Director will assist the Head of Capital Markets at HANetf, engaging with third-party ETF clients before and after ETF launches on the HANetf platform. The role involves managing a small team and reporting initially to the Head of Business Development, a seasoned ETF Capital Markets professional.

Role of Capital Markets

The team acts as the central contact point for primary and secondary ETF market activities, overseeing trading, managing relationships with Authorized Participants (APs), investment banks, brokers, exchanges, and market makers, and providing ETF execution insights and investor education.

The primary goal is to maintain a broad panel of active market makers to support current and future products, with ongoing management and updates to this list.

Primary Market
  • Manage relationships with existing and prospective APs through regular communication and meetings.
  • Assist in designing the primary market process for new ETF launches.
  • Oversee daily operations of the primary market process with the operations team.
Secondary Market
  • Manage relationships with market-making firms, including regular updates on spreads and launches.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to gather feedback from market makers and obtain indicative costs and spreads for new launches.
  • Work with market makers, APs, and exchanges to enhance client experience and reduce spreads.
  • Monitor intra-day spreads and prepare compliance reports.
  • Compare HANetf spreads against competitors using Bloomberg and exchange data, taking steps to ensure competitiveness.
  • Review spreads periodically post-launch to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Gather trade reports and conduct quarterly roadshows across major European markets to strengthen relationships and promote HANetf business.
Client Execution Services
  • Collaborate with sales to assist clients in executing trades efficiently.
  • Provide education on ETF liquidity and pre-trade analytics.
  • Develop knowledge of HANetf’s UCITS ETF range for client discussions.
  • Build close relationships with local market sales traders to identify new AUM opportunities.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ experience in ETF Capital Markets and operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational, outcome-driven, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, and trading.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated and independent, yet collaborative.
  • Programming skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of European languages besides English is beneficial.

Compensation is competitive, including salary, performance bonus, and stock options, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
