HANetf is Europe’s first full service white label ETP firm. We provide all the functions and services necessary to set up, manage, and grow ETPs for third-party asset managers.

The business was established in 2017, with its first ETF launched in November 2018. We currently manage over ≠$5bn in AUM across 21 ETFs, 5 commodity ETCs, and 9 crypto funds for clients in Europe, Canada, and the US. Our product focus is on the ‘value-added’ end of the ETF market, including active, niche, and thematic ETFs. Our product range encompasses commodities, equities, active strategies, new indices, and existing indices.

The ultimate goal is to expand to approximately 100-200 ETFs and serve 40 to 50 clients across the full spectrum of ETFs—equities, bonds, and alternatives.

Background

The Capital Markets Director will assist the Head of Capital Markets at HANetf. This role involves engaging with third-party asset management ETF clients before and after ETF launches on the HANetf platform, and managing a small team within the capital markets division. The initial reporting line will be to the Head of Business Development, a highly experienced ETF Capital Markets professional.

Role of Capital Markets

The team acts as the central contact point for primary and secondary market ETF activities, overseeing trading of HANetf ETFs and ETCs. It manages relationships with Authorised Participants (APs), investment banks, brokers, exchanges, and market makers involved in HAN ETFs. The team also provides insights on ETF execution and investor education.

The primary aim is to maintain a broad panel of on-screen, paid market makers to support current and future products, continuously managing and refreshing this list.

Main Responsibilities
  • Primary Market: Manage relationships with existing and prospective APs, including regular communication and meetings; assist in designing the primary market process for new ETP launches; oversee daily operations with the ops team.
  • Secondary Market: Manage relationships with market-making firms; coordinate with product teams to gather feedback, costs, and spreads; work with MMs, APs, and exchanges to enhance client experience and reduce spreads; monitor intra-day spreads and generate compliance reports; compare spreads against competitors and take corrective actions; conduct periodic reviews post-launch; report trades and conduct quarterly roadshows to strengthen relationships.
Client Execution Services
  • Collaborate with sales to facilitate efficient trading; educate clients on ETF liquidity; produce pre-trade analytics; promote HANetf’s UCITS ETF range; develop relationships with local market sales traders to increase AUM opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in ETF capital markets and operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and outcome-driven skills.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, and trading.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg is advantageous.
  • Self-directed and independent, with the ability to seek input as needed.
  • Programming skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of European languages besides English is beneficial.

Compensation includes a competitive salary, performance bonus, stock options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
