Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex is seeking a Head of Estates for Worthing and Southlands Hospitals. The role leads Estates across the hospital site, covering building and engineering services, maintenance, statutory compliance and development projects.

Applicants should have senior leadership experience and a strong NHS background. The position offers a permanent, full-time contract, with on-call duties and visa sponsorship considerations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a leader and professional role model.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain successful partnerships.
• Knowledge of Estates operations in a large organisation including reactive and planned maintenance.
• Good understanding of NHS policy and reforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of Trust Estates and develop services in line with corporate policies and strategies.
• Lead on strategic and operational matters, change programmes and key projects for the Trust.
• Ensure governance procedures and sound financial management across Estates.
• Communicate with stakeholders and provide expert advice to management and auditors.
• Develop and lead the Estates elements of NHS Plan including statutory regulations and PLACE.
