Job description

Interim Head of Estates and Facilities - Temp - £28 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a prestigious and innovative Higher Education institution who have an Interim Head of Estates and Facilities position.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation dedicated to creative excellence and student experience, where your leadership will directly shape the future of a vibrant and unique university campus.

This role is an interim role for up to 3 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Facilities team, ensuring delivery of a high-quality service aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Ensure the efficient management and smooth operation of the entire estate, working closely with stakeholders to meet the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
  • Act as the client representative for capital and campus development projects, ensuring the physical environment reflects the institution's aspirations.
  • Be the lead authority and source of expertise for all services under Campus Services, offering professional advice and oversight in line with the university's strategic framework.

Key Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of estates management, health and safety, COSHH regulations, carbon management, and sustainability - plus the relevant legislation.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience at a senior level.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Professionally accredited or subject-qualified, or with equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the key challenges within the Higher Education sector, especially in relation to estates, sustainability, and compliance.
