About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of SHEQ to lead our safety, environmental, and quality agenda across both factory and site operations. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to embed a high-performance SHEQ culture, lead compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing and project-based environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including CDM
  • Oversee internal audits, inspections, and management systems, driving corrective actions where needed
  • Lead a team of SHEQ professionals covering health, safety, environmental and quality disciplines
  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and certification audits
  • Support tendering and client-facing activities with SHEQ documentation and expertise
  • Lead proactive training, induction, and safety culture initiatives across factory, site, and subcontractors
  • Champion occupational health and wellbeing across the workforce
  • Monitor environmental impact, sustainability KPIs, and support the business journey to Net Zero
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, HR, and Project teams to maintain high SHEQ standards

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior HSEQ/SHEQ role within manufacturing, construction, or engineering
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), IOSH membership, and Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001/14001/45001) preferred
  • A collaborative and confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Deep understanding of health risk management, environmental compliance, and quality control processes
  • Comfortable working across strategic planning and hands-on delivery
  • Track record of influencing positive safety culture and continuous improvement

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a business committed to raising standards and empowering its SHEQ function to lead from the front. With support from senior leadership and a dedicated SHEQ team, you'll shape policy, influence culture, and make a lasting impact on how the organisation operates.
