Job summary

The AA is seeking a Head of Enterprise Technology Roadmap to lead the CTO Office and shape the company’s long-term technology strategy. You will own the enterprise roadmap, align strategy with priorities across Product, Engineering, Data and Platforms, and drive investment decisions to maximise strategic value.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to visualise dependencies, manage risk, and measure outcomes, ensuring a coherent enterprise view across the organisation and sustained benefits

• Experience in technology strategy and enterprise architecture within a large organisation.
• Proven ability to develop and manage enterprise-scale roadmaps across platforms and domains.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive influencing capability.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategy and target architecture into actionable priorities and sequencing.
• Identify opportunities to maximise technology investment including modernisation and reducing technical debt.
• Provide enterprise visibility of strategic technology risks, dependencies and sequencing requirements.
• Establish measures for tracking roadmap outcomes, benefits and progress with evidence-based insight.
• Build relationships across technology and business leadership to align direction with plans.

We’re looking for a Head of Enterprise Technology Roadmap to join our Chief Technology Office (CTO) and play a key role in shaping how the AA delivers its long term technology strategy.

You’ll own and drive our enterprise technology roadmap, translating technology strategy and target architecture into a clear, prioritised and actionable path towards the AA’s future technology state. Working across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Value Streams, Platforms and strategic partners, you’ll bring together technology priorities into a coherent enterprise view and help ensure investment is focused where it can create the greatest strategic value.

With an enterprise wide remit, you’ll create visibility across technology dependencies, investment choices, technical debt and lifecycle risks, helping senior leaders navigate the trade offs between value, cost, risk, pace and long term sustainability. You’ll also establish clear measures for tracking progress and benefits, ensuring the roadmap continues to evolve as business priorities, technology choices and investment decisions change.

What You’ll Do

• Own and maintain the integrated enterprise technology roadmap, providing a clear short, medium and long term view of our journey towards the AA’s target technology state.
• Translate technology strategy and target architecture into actionable priorities, bringing together plans across Value Streams, Platforms, Architecture, Engineering, Data and other technology capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to maximise technology investment through modernisation, simplification, resilience, security, lifecycle management and the reduction of technical debt.
• Provide enterprise visibility of strategic technology risks, dependencies and sequencing requirements, clearly articulating trade offs across value, cost, risk, pace and long term sustainability.
• Establish measures for tracking roadmap outcomes, benefits and progress, providing clear, evidence based insight to support technology investment and prioritisation decisions.
• Build strong relationships across technology and business leadership, influencing senior and executive stakeholders and connecting strategic technology direction with plans across the organisation.

What You’ll Bring

• Significant experience in technology strategy, technology planning, enterprise architecture, engineering strategy or a comparable senior technology role within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven experience developing and managing enterprise scale technology roadmaps spanning multiple platforms, products or organisational domains.
• Strong experience translating technology strategy and target architecture into clear priorities, sequencing, investment choices and pragmatic delivery plans.
• Broad enterprise technology knowledge spanning areas such as cloud, platforms, data, integration, cyber security, infrastructure and modern engineering practices, alongside an understanding of modernisation, lifecycle management and technical debt.
• Strong commercial and strategic judgement, with experience connecting business strategy and investment priorities to longer term technology needs and evaluating complex dependencies and trade offs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the credibility to operate across organisational boundaries and communicate complex technology choices clearly to senior technical and non technical audiences.

• Experience operating within a regulated or operationally critical environment.
• Relevant technology strategy, enterprise architecture, product, portfolio or transformation qualifications.
• Relevant cloud or technology certifications.
