Standard Life plc is seeking a Head of Engineering Operations to lead the capability underpinning engineering quality, delivery assurance, environments and release governance across the Digital & Information Office. This senior role supports a move to a product-led, platform-based technology function.

You will drive automation, DevSecOps practices, test automation and AI-enabled delivery while maintaining standards in a highly regulated environment to ensure fast, safe and reliable software

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering operations, quality engineering and release governance in a large organisation.
• Ability to balance pace with control by embedding standards, risk management and operational resilience.
• Practical knowledge of DevSecOps, test automation, deployment automation and developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Engineering Operations capability across quality engineering, environments, release readiness and governance.
• Lead engineering risk management with clear ownership of controls and attestation.
• Drive automation including automated standards compliance, test automation and AI-enabled software delivery.
• Provide leadership for quality assurance, environment management and release governance.
• Oversee engineering standards across partners and outsourced providers with measurable delivery metrics.
• Use engineering metrics and risk insights to improve decision making and accountability.
