Job title: Head of Engineering & Maintenance

Location: Yorkshire/Humber

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Work hours: 37.5

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Head of Engineering & Maintenance on behalf of a global CDMO organization.

As a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT), you will have overall management and responsibility for all activities in engineering and maintenance for all MM assets. You will be accountable for the performance and results of this area, including quality, costs, and safety.

Key accountabilities:

  • Managing sustainable engineering and maintenance activities across the site
  • Full responsibility for all aspects of human resource management such as qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions, and discipline issues
  • Build and sustain a high-performing team. Maintain a culture of empowerment, innovation, trust, high performance, and change readiness. Implement a vision as a service provider in your organization.
  • Ensure good information exchange between upper management and your team through regular meetings and escalation of technical issues
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, standards, and concepts aligned with the site. Focus on cost-efficient preventive maintenance
  • Ensure professional and economic execution of maintenance activities and high availability of manufacturing units
  • Control and comply with annual maintenance budgets, lump-sum, and CAPEX budgets. Manage cost centers and implement cost reduction measures

Key requirements:

  • Strong technical background, high self-motivation, integrity, perseverance, and result orientation
  • Significant experience in engineering and/or maintenance, preferably in a chemical/pharma environment
  • GMP and EHS knowledge
  • Practical experience with OE / LEAN methodologies is a plus
