We are seeking a dynamic Head of Engineering to drive this transformation through engineering leadership, continuous improvement, and automation technologies.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Head of Engineering will play a critical role in maximizing efficiency across our current operations via the implementation of automation and CI initiatives on high speed lines. The ideal candidate will bring extensive operational engineering expertise coupled with a proven ability to lead change.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy aligned with business goals. Design and implement process improvements to increase over-all machine and facility efficiency to world class levels. Prioritize engineering initiatives that maximize return on capital investment while ensuring sustainable operational scalability. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers focused on ongoing process and knowledge enhancement and problem-solving. Lead projects from concept to completion maximising opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency. Responsible for engineering budget, including capital expenditures, consumables, and labour, ensuring cost-effective management aligned with business priorities. Candidate Profile:
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, drive continuous improvement culture, and manage complex change initiatives. Extensive experience managing engineering operations within fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments. Good knowledge and practical application of Good Engineering Practice (GEP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) systems. Demonstrable track record in implementing and optimizing high-speed automation, robotics, and process control technologies. Experience of Schubert technology and high speed flow wrappers would be a particular advantage. Solid understanding of Quality Assurance, Environmental, Health and Safety standards, and compliance frameworks within the food industry.
