Job description

Head of Engineering | Must be eligible to work in the UK - Sponsorship not provided

The Head of Engineering is required to fulfil the role as a senior manager and offer advice/assistance to any elements of the business as required.

Qualifications:
  1. Ideally, the candidate will have a background in packaged equipment design or systems integration.
  2. Experience in mechanical, electrical and PLC based controls is highly desirable.
  3. High pressure experience preferred but not essential. Some experience with industrial compressor packages would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
  1. Management of UK Engineering Department including budgetary requirements.
  2. Development and implementation of Engineering Strategy.
  3. Development of Business Processes.
  4. Management and promotion of effective interface with other departments.
  5. Ensure legislation and statutory requirements for BUK products are met.
  6. Authorise all designs for UK products.
  7. Ensure that the Engineering department is adequately resourced to fulfil obligations.
  8. Promote development of staff.
  9. Review and report upon Design Safety Issues.
Skills Required:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Good communication and organisational skills are essential.
  3. Must be able to work unsupervised, under pressure and in challenging environments.
  4. Extensive worldwide & UK travel may be necessary.
  5. Knowledge of capability of IT Software, including MS Office, AutoCAD, Inventor, SAP, Sage & Adobe.
