Job description

Job Title: Head of Energy Management

Location: Greater London, England, United Kingdom (On-site)

A Pan-European Private Equity business dedicated to the Renewable Energy sector is seeking a Head of Energy Management for their UK portfolio of Solar PV, Wind, and BESS Storage projects. The role involves working closely with teams across Europe to develop and support the negotiation of PPA & route-to-market contracts.

The Role:
  1. Define a trading/hedging strategy to manage the price exposure of existing assets.
  2. Assess pricing risk strategies, market exposures, and opportunities.
  3. Build relationships with key stakeholders for market awareness and commercial advantage.
  4. Review and monitor current and future positioning of the company regarding value at risk exposure, opportunities, and mitigation in line with business strategy.
  5. Develop energy market monitoring tools and dashboards to support hedging strategies and market monitoring.
  6. Understand third-party price scenarios across geographies, the value drivers and assumptions behind them, differences between advisors, and implications for financials and risk management.
  7. Support the Regulatory Engagement Manager in maintaining an updated position on the latest regulatory developments.
The Individual:
  • Relevant University Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy markets.
  • Proactive, involved, with a capacity for effort and sacrifice.
  • Hard-working, team player.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially German, Italian, Spanish, or Polish, is valued.
