HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

Lead the Insurance, Pensions and Investments Risk Economic Crime Prevention team to ensure positive customer outcomes.

The Head of Economic Crime Prevention Oversight (and our MLRO for our Insurance, Pensions, and Investments entities) is a key role within Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I), providing leadership and strategic direction in the management of risks across our business.

They will apply an extensive understanding of current and emerging fraud and crime risks ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance through the deployment of appropriate anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud and anti-bribery policies, controls, and procedures.

Role accountabilities:
  • Set the strategic direction for Economic Crime policy and oversee its effective execution across the legal entity. Oversee first line of defence activity in relation to fraud and financial crime, ensuring it is compliant and within risk appetite.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, overseeing diverse activities and ensuring regulatory compliance through close collaboration with internal risk stakeholders.
  • Modelling behaviours to demonstrate the Group's values and making sure that management of risk is the responsibility of every colleague.
  • A key leadership role within both our IPI and Risk Divisions.
What you’ll need:

We’ll be looking for these skills and experiences. But we know careers, like life, don’t always go in a straight line.

  • Highly experienced and seasoned Economic Crime Prevention professional with deep knowledge of current and emerging regulatory requirements for Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption matters.
  • Experience in automating and digitising control environments, integrating innovative tools and platforms to enhance economic crime detection and prevention capabilities.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to drive transformation and communicate effectively at senior levels, both internally and externally.
  • A strong track record of using data to drive oversight, generate actionable insights, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Frameworks within a financial services organisation.
  • Experience of providing constructive challenge and support to 1st Line, and in a Shared Services environment to mitigate risks.
  • Proven in navigating ambiguity and adapting with pace to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience of working within financial services and ideally knowledge of Insurance, Pensions, and Investment businesses.
