Job description

Homes for Students is a leading third-party PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) operator, managing and promoting a diverse portfolio of student living spaces across the UK. With six dynamic brands under our umbrella – Homes for Students, Prestige Student Living, Essential Student Living, Urban Student Life, Universal Student Living, and EVO Student – as well as a portfolio of student houses under UK Student Houses (UKSH), we pride ourselves on providing exceptional student experiences.

Our success is built on keeping things in-house. From PPC and SEO to website updates, content, and social media, our talented digital marketing team handles it all. We are now seeking an experienced Head of Digital Marketing to lead this team of specialists, ensuring we continue to stand out in a competitive market.

This is a hybrid role - hours are 40 hours per week, 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Role
As our Head of Digital Marketing, you will take the reins of our digital strategy, driving performance across all areas of digital marketing. You’ll lead a team of talented specialists, covering:

  • PPC: Crafting and optimising paid campaigns to maximise ROI.
  • SEO: Ensuring our websites rank highly and attract high-quality traffic.
  • Website Management: Keeping our online presence user-friendly, up-to-date, and engaging.
  • Content Marketing: Overseeing the creation of compelling, relevant content across all platforms.
  • Social Media: Driving organic and paid social strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

This is a hands-on role where strategic oversight meets creative execution. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to align digital activities with overarching business objectives, deliver regular company social media training sessions to internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate with clients to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a cohesive digital marketing strategy across all brands.
  • Manage, inspire, and develop a team of digital marketing specialists.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of campaigns, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure all websites are optimised for user experience, speed, and SEO.
  • Lead on paid advertising campaigns, ensuring they deliver measurable results.
  • Oversee the production and optimisation of high-quality, engaging content.
  • Drive innovation in social media, leveraging both organic and paid tactics to grow brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with clients, building strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Deliver regular social media training sessions for internal teams and clients, empowering them to use platforms effectively.

What We're Looking For
We’re seeking a digital marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Significant experience in digital marketing, including PPC, SEO, content, and social media (both organic and paid).
  • Proven success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • A strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trust and deliver value.
  • Experience designing and delivering engaging training sessions.
  • A passion for innovation, with a track record of introducing new ideas or technologies to improve performance.
  • Experience in the property, accommodation, or similar sectors is advantageous but not essential.
