About the role:

To lead a team and work closely with colleagues to conceive, develop and deliver high-quality digital content, projects and products as part of the learning programme, in line with the Museum’s vision, values and purpose. An ability to lead on creative ideation to grow the programme, balanced with strong planning and coordination skills, will enable you to build capacity and deliver a fresh, new approach to digital learning. While the role will work across all our learning programmes, a specific focus will be the development of a strong new digital strand for our schools’ programmes, one that works outside of Bloomsbury, in partnership with schools and regional museums to increase engagement with the collection.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To shape, grow and deliver a fresh and innovative digital learning programme, maximising the use of both internal and external knowledge and experience to strengthen the Museum’s offer, working with colleagues across the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver a new strategy and plan for a digital strand of the school’s programme to extend the reach of the offer to teachers and students in classrooms across the UK. Manage the commissioning of new learning content, working closely with the wider Schools team and curatorial colleagues.
  • To work closely with, and advise, the Head of Learning and Programmes, Digital Advisory Group, and other colleagues across the Museum to identify, create and respond to opportunities for strategic partnerships.
  • To deliver consistent, high-quality products and online content characterised by innovation, diversity and relevance, while being engaging and enjoyable for audiences. Manage the development and review of existing digital learning resources, including technical aspects, in liaison with other Museum colleagues.
  • Effectively deliver projects that achieve agreed strategic aims to a high quality, and within budget, time and resourcing constraints. This will include working with external contractors and partners.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has a degree in a relevant subject, has experience in managing development of online learning experiences, can ideate and deliver digital projects and programs, can deliver high-quality complex projects, has excellent communication skills, is flexible, can work collaboratively, and is competent with digital platforms.
