Who we are looking for

We are seeking a strategic leader to serve as the Head of Digital Assets Strategy at SSGA within the Chief Business Office Innovation Hub. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary executive looking to take a leadership role developing and implementing SSGA’s digital assets strategy. This critical role requires a deep understanding of the broader asset management universe, as well digital assets, blockchain technology, the evolving regulatory landscape and how these factors will inform SSGA’s existing and future product line.

This role will report directly into the Head of Cash, Securities Lending and Digital Assets, and will work closely with partners in the Chief Business Office, our Client Coverage Group, Investments, Technology and Operations, as well as State Street Bank in their capacity as our service provider. The successful candidate will play a key role in positioning SSGA as a leader in the digital assets space.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Digital Assets Strategy you will

• Develop and execute the firm's digital assets strategy, to help drive overall business goals, meet client demand and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Identify and evaluate new digital asset opportunities and trends to ensure the firm builds a competitive edge in this space.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of digital assets, blockchain technology, and market trends. Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
• Outline and sell the vision to senior leaders to integrate digital assets into the firm's broader product strategy.
• Establish training forums to ensure understanding of our Digital strategy and product portfolio.
• Create and/or participate in forums internally and externally with clients and industry participants to deliver thought leadership and encourage idea sharing and innovation, including the sharing of best practices
• Be a thought leader and bring the firm along on this journey, driving a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with other departments such as the Client Coverage Group, Investments, Compliance, Legal, Technology and Operations to ensure cohesive strategy implementation.
• Help other stakeholders understand the risks associated with digital asset investments, how we identify, assess and mitigate them
• Work closely with STT’s Digital Asset team to leverage the power of the STT franchise
• Engage with clients, investors, and other stakeholders to communicate the firm's digital assets strategy and value proposition.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, events, and forums to build brand recognition and thought leadership.
• Foster strong relationships with external partners, including technology providers, regulators, and industry groups.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) is preferred.

• Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital asset strategies and/or product innovation.
• Deep understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and the regulatory landscape.
