We are seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Development to lead our Planning, Growth Delivery and Sustainability and Economic Development services.
This is a crucial role in driving the Edinburgh and South East of Scotland City Region Deal and overseeing exciting development projects such as Blindwells new town, the former power station site at Cockenzie and the Innovation Hub and Edinburgh Park located close by Queen Margaret University.
As Head of Development you will also be required to provide strategic oversight to the development of the Councils Local Development Plan, maximising economic opportunities to promote economic wellbeing within East Lothian, and will play a key role in transforming services and supporting change across the council.
You will be tasked with providing the strategic vision to support colleagues in delivering the council's corporate plans, priorities, and objectives - with the needs of our communities and those who rely on our services at their heart.
You will have proven experience in at least one of the disciplines e.g. planning, growth delivery, or economic development.
Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Degree standard or equivalent and/or equivalent level of knowledge/ training/ experience required to do the job.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
