Job description

Head of Development and Delivery - for our North-East and Yorkshire new homes programme

Circa £90,000 per annum, plus car allowance of £5055 per annum and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

Based in the region with hybrid working from our office in Newcastle Upon Tyne two days per week, from home and regular travel to our Leeds office and sites across the regional portfolio.

Key priorities as Head of Development and Delivery

  • Ensure a commercially viable development programme, managing income and expenditure, identifying new opportunities, and progressing schemes, including joint ventures with developers and contractors.
  • Lead our development programme from strategy to site identification, sale/rent, and aftercare, working collaboratively with your team to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive innovation, market leadership, sustainability, and co-design with customers in our new homes programme, supporting growth and surplus, and moving towards greater consolidation and Net Zero targets.
  • Provide strong, clear leadership promoting a culture of performance, transparency, and excellence— inspiring and influencing your team to deliver service excellence.

You bring

  • Significant experience in the housing sector. A degree and relevant professional qualification such as CIOH, RICS, CIOB would be advantageous.
  • Strong experience managing end-to-end development processes from opportunity identification to aftercare.
  • Credibility in the sector with proven skills to lead change, drive improvement, and innovate.
  • Strong skills in developing business plans, influencing strategy, and managing P&L.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire teams.

Our team

Reporting to Kitson, our Director of Development, you’ll be part of our leadership team, collaborating regularly to shape strategy and lead our teams effectively.

Job details

  • Full time, 37.5 hpw, Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working: from home, our offices in Newcastle or Leeds, and regional sites.
  • Based in the region with hybrid working; from our Newcastle office two days per week, with regular travel to Leeds and sites.
  • Occasional national travel to London for meetings.
  • A valid driving license and access to an insured vehicle; a car allowance is provided.
