Job description

As the Head of Dev Ops, your primary purpose will be to lead the support, development, testing, and integration of all business systems, ensuring that the core applications meet the high availability requirements needed to support the operation of the Business.

The role is part of the technology leadership team and is responsible for the strategy surrounding all Dev Ops activities. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working within a hybrid model, split across our offices in Eagle Court, Sheldon, Birmingham, as well as within the branch networks, supply chain hubs, and remotely.

About the role:
  • You will be accountable for the system availability of all key business systems, providing the best possible availability to our end customers.
  • Externally, you will manage relationships and be accountable for all third parties involved in development, testing, and M3 infrastructure, fostering relationships that enable best value for money and service for Rexel UK.
  • Leading the team, you will ensure they are set up for success now and in the future as the technology landscape changes and the architecture is modernized.
  • You will be responsible for development, testing, and operational day-to-day business systems availability, as well as ensuring release management is controlled and adheres to industry best practices, regardless of the development source.
  • Monitoring team performance through the full SDLC to ensure work is completed on time and to quality standards. You will lead and coach the team in developing new skills while supporting legacy applications.
  • You will also oversee Disaster Recovery services for all line-of-business systems, in line with Rexel's DR/BC policies, including annual testing.

About you:

You will ideally have operated in a similar role, leading teams successfully while supporting and partnering with a diverse business.

Throughout your career, you will have gained detailed knowledge of SDLC and ideally worked in roles requiring project management experience and agile methodology.

You should have good knowledge of ITIL processes and experience managing a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.

A key contributor to our high-performance culture, you will be curious, embrace change, and seek opportunities to optimize and enhance customer experience in your roles.
