Your new role: As the Head of Design for Manufacture, you will lead and develop a team responsible for delivering manufacturing-ready information. You will define and implement standardised design practices, work closely with design teams to format and structure external design inputs, and develop a library of design details. Your role will also involve promoting design reuse, ensuring design information aligns with manufacturing requirements, and applying DfMA principles to optimise factory-based assembly efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with preconstruction teams, lead new product development initiatives, and act as a key interface between design, manufacturing, and other departments. You will provide leadership in resolving design-related challenges, leverage digital tools to optimise design processes, and mentor team members.
What you'll need to succeed: At least 5 years of experience in a management role within a design/manufacturing and/or construction environment. You should have excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, experience in leading and working collaboratively with diverse teams, and strong problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication skills, the ability to innovate and drive product development, and strong literary and IT skills are essential. You should also have sound knowledge of design standards relevant to the company's operations and the ability to travel within the UK and Europe. Experience in manufacturing design, traditional design, and the design of volumetric modular buildings is desirable.
