Job Description:

A talented Head of Department for ICT is needed to lead Computer Science at an 'outstanding' all-girls school in Islington (permanent, September). The role involves significantly contributing to high GCSE and A-level progress, developing the curriculum, and fostering a love of Computer Science in girls to increase GCSE participation and introduce A-levels. Proven experience in raising student achievement is essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership and management for the ICT department.
  • Develop, refine, and implement a high-quality Computer Science curriculum and pedagogy across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a view to A-Level introduction.
  • Lead and support colleagues to improve the progress of students in Computer Science.
  • Foster a love of coding and Computer Science sciences both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Champion digital literacy across the school.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department.
  • Contribute to the school’s extensive enrichment programme.
  • Understand the context of the school community and develop strategies to support all students to be successful.

  • The skillset to develop and refine a Computer Science curriculum and pedagogy.
