We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head of English to join our vibrant and ambitious secondary school in the Braintree area from September 2025. This is a key leadership role, perfect for someone with the vision and drive to lead our English department to continued success.


About the Role:
Lead the strategic development of the English department, including curriculum planning and assessment.
Inspire and manage a team of English teachers to deliver outstanding teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5, if applicable).
Monitor student progress and implement interventions to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
Collaborate with senior leadership to support whole-school improvement and literacy initiatives.


What Were Looking For:
A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a strong background in teaching English at secondary level.
Proven leadership experience or the readiness to step into a leadership role.
A passion for literature, language, and creative teaching.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
