Are you ready to take the helm of your own specialist, purpose-built Construction Campus and shape the future of construction skills in the region? If so, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to make your mark.

About Us

We are a progressive and ambitious Further Education College based on the Wirral, committed to delivering excellence in vocational education and training. Central to our vision is our dedicated Construction Campus - a state-of-the-art, standalone facility designed specifically for the development of future construction professionals.

This is not just another department leadership role — this is a chance to run your own campus, a thriving hub of learning and innovation that houses cutting-edge workshops, classrooms, and specialist training environments across multiple trades including bricklaying, joinery, electrical, plumbing, and emerging green technologies.

The Role

As Head of Construction, you will take full responsibility for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous development of the Construction Campus. You will be the figurehead of construction education for the college - overseeing curriculum, staff, quality, and employer partnerships to ensure we deliver industry-leading training and outstanding outcomes for our students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all aspects of the Construction Campus, managing its staff, curriculum, and physical resources as a self-contained site
  • Driving a culture of excellence in teaching, learning, and student success across all construction disciplines
  • Expanding the curriculum to meet industry needs, including new technologies and sustainability skills
  • Developing strong employer partnerships to enhance work-based learning, apprenticeships, and progression routes
  • Acting as a key strategic voice in construction education across the college and local community
  • Maximising the potential of our unique facility to grow student numbers and deliver exceptional outcomes

About You:

  • Substantial leadership experience in construction education or industry training
  • A deep understanding of the vocational training landscape, with a strong focus on quality and learner success
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams
  • A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation and curriculum development
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employers, partners, and the wider college community
  • Ideally, a relevant degree or professional qualification in a construction-related field

What We Offer:

  • A unique opportunity to lead a flagship construction campus with full autonomy
  • A collaborative, supportive college environment with investment in people and facilities
  • Access to a wide range of staff benefits including pension scheme with employer contributions currently at 28.6%, generous holidays, and CPD opportunities
  • The chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce of the construction industry
