Meritus in London is seeking a Head of Delivery Management Practice to lead the delivery function across a portfolio of government and defence customers. Hybrid role in London offering strategic leadership and delivery excellence.

You will shape operating models, drive governance, and partner with commercial, technical, and operations teams to ensure outstanding customer outcomes. This leadership role offers career growth and exposure to major public sector digital transformation programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading delivery across software services, tech consultancy, systems integration, or managed services.
• Proven track record delivering complex programmes, projects, and customer contracts.
• Experience with central government, defence, or public sector environments.
• Strong stakeholder governance, risk management, and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Delivery Management Practice, driving consistency, governance, and best practice.
• Provide executive oversight across complex programmes, projects, and service contracts.
• Own portfolio performance including delivery quality, customer satisfaction, revenue, forecasting, and risk management.
• Act as a senior escalation point for customers, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
• Coach and develop Delivery Managers, building a high-performing delivery function.
• Drive organisational change, process improvement, and adoption of modern delivery tools.
• Work closely with commercial, technical, and operational teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.

HEAD OF DELIVERY MANAGEMENT PRACTICE - LONDON (HYBRID) - UP TO £100,000 + BENEFITS - SC ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Delivery Director, Head of Delivery, or Senior Delivery Leader to lead and develop a Delivery Management Practice supporting a large portfolio of government and defence customers. You will drive delivery excellence across programmes, projects, consultancy engagements, and managed services while leading a team of delivery professionals and shaping future operating models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the Delivery Management Practice, driving consistency, governance, and best practice.
• Provide executive oversight across complex programmes, projects, and service contracts.
• Own portfolio performance including delivery quality, customer satisfaction, revenue, forecasting, and risk management.
• Act as a senior escalation point for customers, stakeholders, and delivery teams.

• Proven track record delivering complex programmes, projects, and customer contracts.
• Experience working with Central Government, Defence, Public Sector, or other regulated environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, governance, risk management, and commercial awareness.
• Experience leading and developing delivery teams.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Jira, Azure DevOps, ITIL, or similar delivery toolsets is advantageous.
