Job description

Join us as Head of Delivery & Governance

  • We'll look to you to shape, oversee and track the Group's sustainability programme and its performance and strategic integration across franchises and functions, as well as manage the delivery of the central Sustainability team's performance and delivery
  • You'll act as the coordination point for sustainability efforts, fostering cross-bank cohesion and collaboration on ESG topics
  • This is a high-profile role where you'll develop standardised processes for sustainability practices that comply with bank's policies and integrate ESG factors

What you'll do

This key role will see you shaping, overseeing and tracking the adoption of the bank's sustainability vision so that it's brought to life in line with the Group's strategic priorities. You'll manage cross ESG activity plans and oversee working groups, liaising with internal stakeholders at senior levels within Franchise teams and Finance, establishing clear roles and responsibilities for delivery between teams.

You'll ensure that sustainability objectives are translated into practical operations and delivered across the Sustainability team and the wider organisation, as well as support the operations of the sustainability team. Tracking and overseeing the Sustainability team's in year performance goals and budget, you'll ensure efficient, high quality and effective governance management, including tracking key governance milestones.

In addition, you'll:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of sustainability activities and needs, considering the bank's sustainability vision, and engage stakeholders across the bank to gather input and agree roles and responsibilities
  • Align the sustainability programme with broader strategic development and the bank's policies by creating a mapping document
  • Identify key resources within the team and manage operations to foster a collaborative environment
  • Define a clear operating rhythm for the sustainability programme, including governance, timelines and meetings, while utilising project management tools for tracking
  • Collaborate with franchise teams to translate the bank's sustainability vision into actionable programmes with defined KPIs and accountability structures
  • Act as the point of quality and control for governance materials, preparing high quality summaries and reports for key governance meetings

The skills you'll need

To thrive in this role, you'll have a strong understanding of the Group's structure, culture, and internal protocols, with a solid internal network. You'll have experience in strategic thinking and project delivery, as well as in delivering through others. We'll expect you to be passionate about sustainability and bring sound knowledge and hands-on experience of it. You'll also be an effective influencer, with the ability to build trusted relationships, demonstrating confidence with senior audiences.

You'll also need:

  • Good PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • To be effective at influencing and collaborating across teams to drive projects
  • Experience in finance, budgeting, project management, and team leadership
