Job summary

Social Work England in Sheffield invites a Head of Data Management & Insight to shape our data strategy, oversee data platforms, governance and reporting, and enable senior leaders to make informed decisions.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive data maturity, promote self-service analytics, and ensure data remains a strategic asset across the organisation through robust governance and collaboration. This is a permanent, hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Significant expertise in data management, governance and quality.
• Ability to set direction and embed data across an organisation.
• Experience delivering executive-level reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for data management, engineering, reporting and insight.
• Develop a strategy and plan for data governance and performance reporting.
• Lead a high-performing team and foster continuous learning.
• Develop management information and ensure accurate, consistent reporting.
• Oversee data platforms, pipelines and infrastructure with clear ownership.
• Establish robust data governance and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with finance, HR and operations on planning and metrics.
• Promote self-service reporting and data literacy across the organisation.
• Guide data-related change across core systems and digital platforms.
• Act as data workstream lead for DDaT improvement programmes.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritise and model values and behaviours.
• Strengthen analytical capability in partnership with internal teams.
