This is a multi-year agenda, working with a growing global partner network to cultivate deep data collaboration – and ensure colleagues are making ever better use of the data available to them. Execution against Virgin Red’s strategy is the primary focus, but given our unique position at the centre of the Group, we also have an opportunity – leveraging data – to inform decisions about the launch of future Virgin companies!

Against this background, we're looking for an energetic, commercially savvy Head of Data Product with a strong track record of leading and delivering through periods of change. You’ll shape our data product strategy and ensure delivery aligns with business priorities.   • Own and evolve the data platform vision and roadmap, ensuring it delivers against strategic priorities across data ingestion, stewardship, access, usage and sharing.
  • Translate the roadmap into clear, engaging narratives that align teams and partners around what we’re building, why it matters, and how it drives value.
  • Lead and support a team of Data Product Owners, setting direction, building capability, and ensuring their roadmaps ladder clearly up to wider business and data goals.
  • Define and promote standards of excellence in data product management, fostering alignment and shared learning across the product community.
  • Collaborate with Tech, Legal, InfoSec, and Governance teams to design effective, compliant solutions grounded in product thinking and business alignment.
  • Foster trust and transparency by clearly communicating priorities, delivery timelines, trade-offs, and outcomes through regular, engaging updates.
  • Work with fellow members of the Data Leadership Team to drive data democratisation and use across the business, making data accessible and relevant for teams in Brand, Strategy, Commercial, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Lead the development and implementation of our data sourcing strategy, from partners and third parties.
  • Champion a data-driven culture, encouraging experimentation, storytelling, and collaboration to surface insights and uncover new opportunities.

What you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in senior data product roles, ideally within agile, fast-paced environments at prominent consumer brands; loyalty or membership experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to navigate dynamic, evolving business landscapes, bringing clarity and focus in the face of change.
  • Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen, able to connect big-picture thinking with actionable plans that drive measurable value.
  • Exceptional communicator and collaborator, skilled at influencing across all levels and translating technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Empowering leader and team builder, with a track record of developing talent and establishing frameworks that support growth and high performance.
  • Strong ownership of data platform and product roadmaps, delivering impactful, user-centric solutions that support business objectives.
  • Gravitas to lead organisational change, championing better data processes, governance, and accessibility while fostering buy-in across teams.
  • Well-versed in the data lifecycle and governance, with familiarity in tools and technologies like Snowflake, Braze, Tableau, and Miro; knowledge of AI/ML trends and product/data certifications (e.g. CSPO, CDMP) are beneficial.

The extra details

Role type: Permanent

Location: London hub (approx. 1-2 days per week) & your home space

Salary: £125,000 - £135,000 plus bonus - We're putting our salaries out there for everyone to see - no smoke and mirrors, just honest numbers. We'll offer a salary that matches your skills, always aiming for room to grow.
