Job summary

ActiveOps is seeking a hands-on, senior data engineering leader to own the data strategy end to end, from architecture through to delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and shape the Databricks Lakehouse and reporting estate while partnering with senior stakeholders across product and operations.

You will own the data engineering roadmap, set the technical direction for our platform, and ensure governance, security and scalability across a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading a Data Engineering and BI team, ideally in SaaS or tech product.
• Experience architecting and running a data platform at scale.
• Hands-on Databricks or Spark experience, with modern ETL/ELT methods.
• Strong T-SQL and database performance tuning skills.
• A track record of turning business objectives into a data strategy stakeholders trust.

Responsibilities

• Owning the data engineering strategy and roadmap, aligned to company objectives.
• Setting technical direction for our Databricks platform, including its role feeding products and internal analytics.
• Designing and architecting a platform that supports modelling, analytics and reporting at scale.
• Leading and growing a strong data engineering and BI team.
• Ensuring data security, governance and risk across a multi-tenant, multi-region data platform.
