Job summary

BNY in London seeks a Senior Director, Data Management Manager to lead a strategic data function supporting enterprise priorities. The role operates at the intersection of business, data, technology, risk and governance, building high-performing teams and delivering measurable data improvements.

This leader will drive data quality, governance, controls and accessibility through modern data practices, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities across a large, regulated organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant experience in financial services or regulated industry with data management expertise.
• Experience leading large matrixed organizations with data governance, quality, and strategy.
• Proven ability to deliver transformation and modernization at scale.
• Experience applying automation and AI-enabled capabilities to data initiatives.
• Deep understanding of operational risk, controls, governance and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead data strategy execution, governance, quality, control, and organizational performance.
• Define and execute the function’s strategic vision aligned with business goals and risk requirements.
• Build and lead high-performing, large-scale teams across a matrixed organization.
• Develop scalable data management practices to improve quality, transparency, and trust.
• Partner with business, technology, risk, and compliance to align priorities and investments.
• Drive process discipline, governance routines, and remediation for continuous improvement.
• Lead data governance frameworks including standards, lineage, metadata, and accountability.
