Job summary

First Intuition is seeking an experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead the development of a modern data platform across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and Power BI. You will design scalable data pipelines, drive governance and security, and manage a small team while collaborating with stakeholders to support analytics and AI initiatives.

The role offers hybrid working in the UK, with opportunities to shape data strategy and future-ready solutions for reporting and decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the development of our modern data platform
• Designing scalable data pipelines and solutions
• Driving data governance, quality and security standards
• Managing and developing a small team
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business
• Supporting our future analytics and AI roadmap

What we're looking for:

• Experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform or Analytics Engineering leadership
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Python and SQL
• Experience delivering cloud-based data solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
• A passion for turning data into meaningful business outcomes

Desirable

• Experience within education, apprenticeships or another regulated environment.
• Microsoft and/or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with Power BI semantic models and self-service analytics.
• Knowledge of AI-ready data platforms and emerging analytics technologies.
