An exciting opportunity has opened for a Head of Data Engineering to join a leading retail and homeware business. This role offers a chance to lead, shape, and expand a modern data function within a customer-centric, digitally evolving environment.

You will oversee their cloud-based data platform (Azure), lead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, and drive their data strategy — ensuring data-driven decision making and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a high-performing data engineering team.
• Establishing the technical vision for scalable, secure, and reliable data systems.
• Building and optimizing modern data lakes, warehouses, and real-time pipelines.
• Promoting best practices around CI/CD, governance, quality, and automation.
• Collaborating with Product, Technology, and Business teams to deliver impactful data solutions.
• Participating in Agile delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in data engineering or platform teams.
