Our client is a well-established, medium-sized provider operating in the logistics sector.

Job Description

The Head of Customer Service will be based at our client's operation in Kent and will actively oversee customer relationships with a focus on great service, the development and maintenance of a range of value-added initiatives and services that make a positive difference to our client's customer relationships. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the wider customer team of 5 and seek to develop and enhance our client's customer relationships.
  • Account manage and on-board new clients for dedicated transport services.
  • Resolve issues and maintain clear communication with customers.
  • Provide daily operational reporting to customers, including any KPI reports requested.
  • Continuously improve network service and operational performance, supported by the wider team.
  • Be proactive and forward thinking in planning and developing innovative customer projects and network service solutions.
  • Make commercial decisions through analysing information, assessing risk and solving problems to drive business performance and deliver results.
  • Remain open to new business opportunities and to strive to ensure that we are the first choice for our existing customers.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Head of Customer Service applicant can be based at either one of our client's key locations in Kent and will need to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a senior customer facing role within the transport industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of transport operations and legal responsibilities.
  • A people first approach to leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills in both a leadership capacity and in the delivery of customer focused results.
  • Financial awareness - service solutions impact.
  • Flexible approach to tasks and able to work to deadlines.
  • Adept at handling conflict resolution.

A competitive salary ranging between £55,000 to £60,000 per annum.
