The Jockey Club is seeking a Head of Crowd Safety & Security based at Cheltenham Racecourse with regular travel to other venues across the group. You will lead safety strategy, drive best practice and ensure robust regulatory compliance to protect people, events and venues.

You will oversee training, incident investigations and risk management while building strong relationships with partners and regulators. This role offers a significant leadership opportunity within British racing.

Qualifikationen

• Significant experience leading Crowd Safety & Security operations in major events or venues.
• Proven track record delivering strategic safety and crowd management plans across multi-site operations.
• Excellent leadership, influencing and stakeholder management at all levels.
• Strong communication and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across venues.

Aufgaben

• Lead and embed a best-in-class Crowd Safety & Security strategy across The Jockey Club's nationwide portfolio of racecourses and venues.
• Provide expert leadership and assurance on spectator safety, event security, crowd management, traffic management and venue operations.
• Drive compliance with legislation, Safety Certificates, the Green Guide and industry best practice, ensuring consistent standards.
• Develop, review and continually improve safety, security and contingency planning frameworks and procedures.
• Lead training, exercising and capability development for Safety Officers and stewarding teams.
• Oversee governance, auditing and risk management programmes with reporting to senior leadership.
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies, Safety Advisory Groups, emergency services and counter-terrorism partners.
• Drive continuous improvement across stewarding, security, accreditation and access management systems.
• Lead major incident reviews and implement lessons learned to strengthen safety and security performance.
• Inspire and develop a high-performing team and a positive safety culture.
