Job description

Job Title: Head of Credit Risk Portfolio Management

Location: London/Frankfurt

Corporate Title: Director

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function provides a comprehensive view of the bank’s risk profile across various risk types, businesses, and geographies. It owns overarching responsibilities for key risk management capabilities such as risk appetite, risk identification, and group-wide stress testing, serving as the risk controlling function for credit risk.

The Credit Risk Control Function is a newly established team within ERM responsible for setting and cascading credit risk appetite, monitoring the overall credit risk profile, CLP reporting, forecasting, and ownership of selected credit risk models. The team collaborates closely with the credit risk organization.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and grow the Credit Risk Portfolio Management team, transforming its operating model and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the bank’s global credit portfolios, including managing client-specific and portfolio concentrations and credit risk appetite
  • Assess qualitative and quantitative developments in credit portfolios, including quality trends and emerging risks
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends and their impact on credit portfolios
  • Manage and improve key risk management processes such as credit risk identification and frameworks
  • Lead a team of approximately 5 members across Germany and the UK, fostering a unified team mindset
  • Collaborate with other teams within CRO, especially Credit Risk Management and Group Portfolio Management, ensuring solutions align with the bank’s strategy and regulatory requirements

Skills and Experience:

  • Deep understanding of credit risk management, preferably within investment or corporate banking
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including regulators and auditors, in high-pressure environments
  • Proactive, disciplined, and energetic approach with a desire to challenge the status quo
