Lead copyright operations for a global music business—maternity cover role guiding strategy, rights, and team performance.

A well-established music business is looking for a Head of Copyright to step in on a maternity cover basis. This senior role will lead a UK-based copyright team, working across administration, rights management, and strategic partnerships. It’s a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to play a key part in supporting a diverse and high-profile catalogue.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team covering copyright administration, song delivery, sample clearance, and neighbouring rights
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with writers, publishers, PROs, and other industry stakeholders
• Identify and implement income growth opportunities across a range of music catalogues
• Oversee sub-publisher relationships and contribute to global rights management strategy
• Work closely with internal teams including Publishing, Finance, and Legal
• Contribute to broader business direction as part of the UK Senior Leadership Team

Key Skills & Experience

• Significant experience in copyright administration and music publishing
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of copyright law and industry practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Confident with Excel and familiar with tracking or project tools (e.g. Jira)
