Job description

Head of Conveyancing Department – Liverpool

Ambitious firm seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead its regarded conveyancing team. This role is a great fit for someone passionate about building strong relationships and mentoring a growing team.

Core Duties:

  1. Leading the Team: Managing a fantastic group of conveyancers handling a variety of residential conveyancing cases
  2. Technical Expertise: Overseeing and assisting with complex fee-earning work, including Title reports, Mortgage reports and Leasehold matters
  3. Client Relations: Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients and partners
  4. Performance Monitoring: Keeping an eye on anticipated completions and reporting to senior management on billing and departmental performance
  5. Team Development: Conducting one-on-ones, appraisals and addressing any performance-related issues
  6. Recruitment: Identifying recruitment needs and helping select and interview the best candidates

Requirements:

  1. Experience: At least 10 years of handling residential conveyancing files (Solicitor or CILEX/Fee Earning)
  2. Leadership: Previous experience in department management is essential
  3. Expertise: In-depth knowledge of residential property conveyancing
  4. Mentorship: Experience in training and developing assistants
