This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Head of Contracts to oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects from contract award through to final account. Leading a team of Contracts Managers, you’ll ensure contractual, financial, and operational excellence across all live projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and negotiating JCT contracts, variations, valuations, and final accounts.
- Overseeing contract administration to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Driving project programming using MS Project, identifying critical paths, and issuing delays or EOT notices.
- Leading weekly internal project reviews and attending client meetings to ensure project success.
- Managing project cash flow, budgets, and financial reporting.
- Maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for contractual matters.
- Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are rigorously upheld.
- Mentoring and developing your team to achieve their full potential.
You’ll also play a strategic role in setting up a small works division and contributing to broader business development initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least10 years of contracts management experiencewithin the construction sector, with a proven track record of managing JCT contracts.
- Strong background in contract administration, project programming, critical path analysis, and financial management of construction projects.
- Professional construction qualifications (CIOB membership or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Project, construction contracts, commercial law, and risk management.
- A collaborative leader with a hands-on approach, exceptional communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of health & safety and client service.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid CSCS card.
