Salary: £55,000–£70,000 DOE

Financial Interest, founded by Damien Talks Money (300,000+ YouTube subscribers), is hiring a Head of Content / Editorial Lead to take ownership of our editorial operation. With over 55,000 newsletter readers and a growing blog audience, we’re building the UK’s most relatable, trusted, and high-quality personal finance media brand — you’ll be in charge of leading it.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can both shape editorial strategy and execute at a high level. You’ll be responsible for every word we publish, as well as the systems and processes that allow us to grow output without compromising quality.

The Role

You’ll take full ownership of our content output — scaling our monthly newsletter into a high-quality weekly publication, writing and editing new articles, and updating older pieces to make them more valuable and relevant. You'll manage a small team of writers, build efficient editorial systems, and ensure all content reflects our tone, values, and standards.

This is a hands-on role with strategic oversight. You’ll set the editorial calendar, brief and review work, and optimise how content is created and delivered. You’ll shape how we inform and engage our audience across email and our website, reporting directly to the co-founders.

Responsibilities
  • Scale our newsletter from monthly to weekly while improving clarity, usefulness, and tone
  • Write long-form content that educates and engages UK personal finance readers
  • Edit, improve, and update existing content
  • Brief freelance writers and provide clear, constructive editorial feedback
  • Manage the editorial calendar across newsletter and blog
  • Build scalable editorial systems and workflows that support consistent, high-quality output
  • Maintain a consistent voice and high standards across all content
  • Oversee layout and visuals (e.g. charts, infographics) to enhance readability and engagement
  • Ensure all sponsored content is integrated on time and to standard
  • Explore and implement tools and technologies to streamline production and increase efficiency
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of UK personal finance topics like ISAs, investing, and pensions
  • Proven experience in editing written content and managing a content team, ideally in finance
  • Ability to scale content operations and build efficient editorial systems
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with sharp attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of UX and how it applies to content
  • Organised, self-directed, and comfortable taking responsibility
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience growing a newsletter audience
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools for large-scale sends
  • Passion for financial education
  • Background in financial journalism or content marketing
  • Understanding of sponsor/advertorial content
  • Familiarity with YouTube or broader content ecosystems
  • Basic SEO and content optimisation knowledge
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: £55,000–£70,000 depending on experience
  • Long-term performance bonuses and equity-style incentives
  • Flexible, remote working environment (UK based)
  • Generous annual leave (25 days + bank holidays)
  • A meaningful mission and the ability to have a direct impact on thousands of people in the UK
