Job summary

St Paul’s Catholic School in Leicester is seeking an ambitious Head of Computer Science to provide strategic leadership, drive teaching and learning, and inspire students to develop the digital skills they need for future success. This permanent/full‑time role starts January 4, 2027 (or later by agreement) and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the CS vision within the school.

Qualifications

• Ambitious and inspiring Computer Science leader with strong teaching track record.
• Experienced teacher or current middle leader able to shape the CS vision.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Computer Science Department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
• Develop and implement an engaging and ambitious curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and where applicable, Key Stage 5.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to drive improvement and secure excellent outcomes.
• Support, coach and develop colleagues within the department.
• Champion the use of technology and digital literacy across the school community.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and development priorities.
• Promote a culture of high expectations, innovation and continuous improvement.
