Job description

QSix, a leading alternative asset manager specialising in real estate & real estate debt is recruiting for a 12-month, part-time maternity cover position of Head of Compliance.

This role will only suit someone who is available to start latest 14th July to ensure the handover is completed in time. Your role will be primarily remote but you may be required to travel to our London or Farnham office if required. Travel expenses will be re-imbursed. The role is part-time, based on 3 days a week. The role will suit a well organised all-rounder who is numerate, literate and hard-working. The company is FCA-regulated and subject to SMCR regulation and therefore the role would suit a person who has experience working in a similar environment and will be very hands on, working with a small team. You will be reporting to one of the partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REGULATORY RETURNS:

-Maintaining submissions calendar and ensuring submission made on time.

-Oversight of the accounts team for financial submissions.

-Oversight of the operations team for some of the compliance submissions.

-Submission of the regulatory returns through FCA website and Connect.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

·Compliance registers review (Gifts & Entertainment, Conflicts of Interest, Breaches/Incidents)

·Risk register review/update and quarterly emails

·ICARA review and update

·Wind down plan

·Liquidity & Capital Adequacy Review

·Solvency position / cash support required


AML:

·Financial Crime Risk Assessment

·Managing Market Abuse framework - ensuring ongoing insider list maintenance, and adherence to Market Abuse Regulations (MAR).

·KYC - ensuring both borrower and counterparty KYC is requested, obtained and documented

SMCR:

·Annual Fitness & Propriety Attestations

·Annual Fitness & Propriety Assessments

BOARD REPORTING:

·MLRO annual report

·Quarterly Compliance report

·Quarterly Risk report

·Quarterly Agenda

·Quarterly Minutes

OTHER:

·Complaints handling

·Annual compliance refresher staff training

·New starter induction compliance training

·FINANCIAL PROMOTIONS / MARKETING MATERIAL: Reviewing any marketing materials to ensure they are issued in line with applicable financial promotions rules

·GDPR oversight - ensuring data protection compliance, responding to data breaches, managing Subject Access Requests.

·Policy & Procedure review and update

·Compliance monitoring, advice and correspondence

·Review of contracts to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations

·Special projects, e.g. regulatory capital restructure

Requirements:

·Relevant qualifications and experience

·Previous experience in a similar role in an FCA regulated company

·Good working knowledge of the compliance websites and systems

·A knowledge of other standard software packages and the ability to learn company-specific software if required;

·Self-starter and team player with strong communication skills;

·Good attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability;

·Discretion and trustworthiness: you will often be handling confidential information.

Details:

-Start no later than 14th July;

-12-13 months maternity cover position with working hours 9am – 5.30pm (subject to flexible working policy) Monday to Friday including one-hour lunch break;

-Part-time, 3 days a week, fully remote role, with occasional travel to the London and Farnham office if required, with travel expenses re-imbursement;

-We are flexible and may be able to accommodate shorter hours, split over more days a week, for the right candidate;

-25 days annual leave plus the statutory bank holidays;

-Annual gross salary of £100,000 for the 3 days a week.
